8th July 2015 (Wednesday)

Dear Parents,

Spelling for this week will be on Thursday as Friday is Learning Fest.

For Learning Fest on Friday, please let your girl come in school pinafore with a pink top and pink hair accessories or socks or shoes.
There will be mystery traditional snack for those dressed in costumes and or accessories depicting Singapore in the past. (eg. sarongs, samfu, clogs) while stocks last.

Please let your girl bring snack and water bottle in a small bag on Friday as there will be no lessons. They also have to bring stationery, scissors and dry glue for mass activity. For money, they can bring about $5 in $2 or in cents if they want to buy stuff from some stalla. They will be moving from booth to booth to do different learning activities.

Dear Parents,

Announcements and reminders
1. Please revise Units 1-9 and Language Usage Book 1 in the English file sent home today for the English Proficiency Test next week. Keep the English file at home and I will remind the girls to bring it back after the test.
2. Please revise Math topic Length for Math Performance Task (using non-standard units eg. ice-cream sticks, etc to measure length) on Length next week.
4. Please return the Math file on Monday.
3. Next Mon - Thu school will be dismissed at 12.30pm as the P3-6 are having their Semestral Assessments 1. A letter has been sent home earlier about it.

Homework
1. Please sign the My Parents writing and pupils to do the corrections.
2. Sentence construction - Please sign and pupils to do the corrections.
3. Please sign on the Reviews pages of the Math workbook. Pupils to complete the corrections for the topic on Length in the workbook.

Please remember to revise:1)Spelling from this week onwards as marks will be tabulated.
                                            2) Reading of a passage with the right volume, pronounciation, expression and pauses at punctuation for the reading assessment this and next week. (Choose any comprehension passage from assessment book to practice.)

Dear Parents.

1) Math - Workbook pg 147-150 (Length)
              - Math Test 7 & 8 - Parents to sign and go through the mistakes (Corrections done)
2) English - Writing 1 (My Parents)

For Feast Day tomorrow, please let your girl bring a small bag with coloured pencils, markers, stickers, glue or scotch tape and scissors and a piece of newspapers for the adopted sisters activity.
They will be working with the P3 and P5 girls in groups and will be guided. Also let her bring some snacks and water bottle for her break. Canteen should be opened but not all stalls.
Also note that dismissal will be at 12noon tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

Holistic Assessments (marks counted for year end total)

1. English - A poem has been given to your girl today to go home to practice and memorise with expressions and actions added. Your girl will have to recite the poem with expressions and actions for the assessment to be carried out next week. About 6-10 girls will be called each day for the assessment. (Marks given)
2. Math - There is a Math Shapes and Patterns performance tasks (hands on) with marks counted will be carried out next week. Please revise the worksheets, revision test 5 and workbook on the Shapes and Patterns pg 69-81 with your girl over the weekend.

Reminder

Girls who are given the Catholic Welfare Donation booklet are requested to finish selling the tickets which cost a dollar and a total of $10 per booklet to help the Catholic Homes. Please bring the completed booklet and $10 next Monday to hand in. Thank you for your help and support.

PS: I will be out for the National Rhymthic Gymnastics Competition for Judging duty from Wed to Fri for 3 full days from 8am to 5.30pm. Work has been assigned to the class to complete in school and I will go through with the girls altogether on Monday. Eg has been given for the girls to complete their work.

3) Do the post card welcome message (next to pg 12 of the Nila & Friends asean games book) to a tourist visiting Singapore and recommend a place/food they can visit/try while they are here. Eg. China tourist can visit Chinatown.

Important announcement
Your girl's ezlink card has been given out today. You have to top up the card to use it for bus or mrt trips. Please get the card from your girl for safe keeping.

Any replacement for lost card will have a $20 admin fee imposed and you also need to bring along the girl's birth certificate. You can replace it at Hougang Interchange or MRT ticket counters.
